First-aid measures
Inhalation: Remove affected person from the immediate area. Ensure supply of fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. Consult a physician.
Skin contact: Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Consult a physician.
Additional advice: If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: The product itself does not burn. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and
the surrounding environment e.g.: Dry powder; Carbon dioxide (CO2); Water spray jet;
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Specific methods: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Refer to protective measures listed in sections "handling and storage' and "exposure controls, personal protection". Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Handling and storage
The substance is an intermediate to be used under Strictly Controlled conditions. Control and procedural technologies are used to minimize emissions and release resulting exposure.
The material is stored and transported in form of a wet cake (solid), thereby seriously reducing the risks for exposure.
The main potential risks occur during the manufacturing process of the substance. The manufacturer has documented at the manufacturing site how strictly controlled conditions are guaranteed. These include:
-Provide adequate ventilation.
-Avoid generation and spreading of dust (use of hoods above smelters and appropriate dust filters).
-Avoid inhalation of dust and small particles and contact with skin and eyes.
-Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves and/or RPE) in area’s where dusts are present
-Observe good industrial hygiene practices.
-Perform appropriate monitoring campaigns to demonstrate absence of risks towards exposures of Cu, Ni, As...
Handling: Take note of Directive 98/24/EC on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the risks related to chemical agents at work.
Safe handling advice: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. If workplace exposure limits are exceeded, respiratory protection approved for this particular job must be worn.

2. Exposure controls
2.1 Occupational exposure controls
Take note of Directive 98/24/EC on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the risks related to chemical agents at work.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid repeated exposure. Wear suitable protective equipment. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. Clean skin thoroughly after work. At work do not eat, drink, smoke or take drugs. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Keep working clothes separately.
