Description of key information
The particle size distribution of totaquina sample #1 is < 500 µm and the particle size distribution of sample #2 is < 63 µm. The mass median diameter of totaquina is in a range of 37 - 45 µm.

In this study report, the particle size distribution of totaquina was determined for two samples. The particle size distribution of totaquina sample #1 is < 500 µm and the particle size distribution of sample #2 is < 63 µm. In sample #2 lower particles sizes were measured, so that this sample is more conservative for prediction the dustiness. With regard to inhalation potential, 100 % can be inhaled (<100 µm). 19 % of totaquina has a particle size < 20 µm. Therefore, the alveoli relevant thoracic fraction (<10 µm) is < 19 %. The mass median diameter is in a range of 37 - 45 µm.
