Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The Soil Microbial Community Test (OECD 216 and 217) on a structural analog Didecyldimethylammonium chloride (DDAC) indicates that there is no long-term adverse influence on the nitrogen and carbon transformations in soils. Thus, it is considered that further tests are not required.
Study waived.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Further tests may be required if the risk assessment based on long term terrestrial tests show that there is still a concern for the terrestrial compartment. The risk assessment on the uses of N,N-Didecyl-N-methyl-poly(oxyethyl)ammonium Propionate as a disinfectant in the EU have indicated that there is no concern for the terrestrial compartment, as the PEC/PNEC values are all < 1.

In addition, the Soil Microbial Community Test (OECD 216 and 217) on a structural analog Didecyldimethylammonium chloride (DDAC) indicates that there is no long-term adverse influence on the nitrogen and carbon transformations in soils. Thus, it is considered that further tests are not required.
