The test substance is a dark red powder. The melting point was determined to be higher than 300°C and therefore the boiling point and flash point could be waived. The density at 22°C is 1850 kg/m3 with a mass median diameter of 18.9 µm and a vapour pressure of <4E-7 at 20°C and <9E-7 at 25°C. The calculated partition coefficient between n-octanol and aqueous phase is: log Pow: -6.1. The water solubility of the test substance is 86.3 g/L at 20°C, the fat solubility is lower than 0.04 mg/100g fat at 37°C and the surface tension of aqueous solution at 20°C lies between 33.6 - 34.3 mN/m at 10 g/L solution, between 49.7 - 49.9 mN/m at 1 g/L solution, and between 70.0 - 71.7 mN/m at 0.1 g/L solution. Auto flammability was observed at 280°C and the test substance it is not highly flammable. The test substance is not explosive, has no oxidizing properties, is thermally stable, but dissociates in water. Classification of the test substance is not needed according to the Directive 67/584/EEC and according to the EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
