Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Particle shape (qualitatively): platelets

The test substance contains a few large particles. Depending on whether some lumps come into the sieving sample or not, the results of subsequent siftings scatter considerably. For this reason, the average of all siftings is taken as the final result. The substance adsorbs water (ca. 11 %) under normal laboratory conditions. Therefore, the substance was exposed to the laboratory atmosphere for 2 hours prior to the sieving analysis.

Conclusions:
The median of mass distribution of the test substance was determined to be 56 µm.
Executive summary:

In a GLP-compliant study, the mass median diameter of the FAT 40406/A was determined in triplicate. The test was performed on an Alpine luftstrahlsieb using the sieving method. The median of mass distribution (MMD) of the test substance was determined to be 56 µm.

Description of key information

The median of mass distribution of Reactive Red 245 was determined to be 56 µm.
