Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

The determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to the EEC Directive 92/69, Part A, Methods for the determination of physicochemical properties, A. 16 "Relative self-ignition temperature for solids", EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992. Applying a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, FAT 40819/A showed an exothermic reaction starting at about 285 °C. A maximum temperature of 521.9 °C was measured in the sample cube during the exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement, the test item was a lumpy, grey to black residue. FAT 40819/A shows a relative self-ignition temperature at about 286 °C. In conclusion, FAT 40819/A is auto-flammable under the conditions of the test.

Description of key information
