Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test item shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition earliest at appr. 404°C (at 1019 hPa; mean value from repeat determination; first heating run).

Additional:

Deduced from the single components of the substance:

> 300 °C at 1013 hPa, decomposition probable
> 190 °C at 3 mmHg

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test item shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition earliest at appr. 404°C (at 1019 hPa; mean value from repeat determination; first heating run).

(Report 20 -16321 -3)

Additional:

Deduced from the single components of the substance. The boiling point of the components was determined at low pressure, which indicated decomposition at normal pressure (1013 hPa). Results for the boiling point of the components of fatty acids, C16-18, ester with ethlene glycol, are found to be measured at very low pressure (20 and 3 mmHg), indicating that decomposition at normal pressure (760 mmHg / 1013 hPa) is probable. For ethylene glycol distearate (CAS-No. 627-83-8) a boiling point of 241 °C at 20 mmHg was measured, for ethylene glycol monostearate (CAS-No. 111-60-4) a boiling point of 190 °C at 3 mmHg was determined. Therefore, the boiling point of CAS-No. 91031-31-1 is deduced to be > 190 °C at 3 mm Hg, decomposition before boiling occurs at normal pressure.
