Based on the available experimental data all endpoint toxicity values were determined to be above 100 mg/L (see IUCLID Ch. 6.1). Therefore, it can be concluded that the substance is not hazardous to aquatic environment. For the derivation of the PNECstp an EC10 of 170.7 mg/l from the key study conducted with Pseudomonas putida was used.Overall it can be stated, that pentane-1,5 -diol possesses a very low toxic potential to aquatic organisms and microorganisms.
