Description of key information
There is an OECD guideline 406 GLP compliant study with rabbits on 3,5,5-trimethylhexanal available in a disseminated Dossier on the ECHA website for a full registration. The substance was skin sensitizing.
Nevertheless, the structural analogue Ethylhexanal was not sensitizing in a human patch test. (Kligman 1960). Therefore, the substance was classified for skin sensitisazion cat. 1 under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP)
