Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The EC50 for aquatic invertebrates exposed to dimethylammonium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate was determined to be 168 mg test substance/L (86.64 mg a.i./L)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study investigating the acute toxicity of dimethylammonium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate (CAS No. 2008-39-1) to Daphnia magna is available (Raszka, 1995). This test was performed according to OECD Guideline No. 202: Daphniasp., Acute Immobilisation Test (1984). After 48 hours exposure to the test material, immobilisation of daphnids at the highest concentrations was reported. The resulting EC50 was 168 mg test substance/L (corresponding to 86.64 mg a.i./L). Additional information could be gathered from the review report on 2,4-D acid (European Commission, 2001) in which a 48h-EC50 = 100 mg a.i./L for Daphnia magna is stated.
