Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice : Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance. First aider needs to protect himself. Place affected clothing in a sealed bag for subsequent decontamination.
Inhalation : Remove to fresh air. Keep at rest. Consult a physician if necessary.
Skin contact : Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. In case of skin contact Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Wash immediately and thoroughly for a prolonged period (at least 15 minutes). Call a physician if irritation develops or persists.
Eye contact : Rinse with running water whilst keeping the eyes wide open (at least 15 minutes) Get immediate medical advice/ attention.
Ingestion : Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a physician if necessary.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media : All extinguishing agents can be used.
Unsuitable extinguishing media : None known.
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Specific hazards during fire fighting: on heating. Harmful or toxic vapours are released.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: For further information refer to section 8 "Exposure controls/personal protection".
Specific fire fighting methods : Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Cool containers / tanks with water spray. Wear suitable protective equipment
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Use personal protective equipment. Safety glasses Face-shield. PVC or other plastic material gloves. Respirator with a particle filter (EN 143). Remove all incompatible materials as quickly as possible
Environmental precautions : Should not be released into the environment. Prevent product from entering drains. Prevent spreading over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers).
Methods for Cleaning or Taking Up
Recovery : Avoid dust formation. Collect spillage. Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal. Keep in properly labelled containers. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Decontamination/cleaning : Wash off with plenty of water. Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal.
Disposal : Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling
Technical measures : Provide adequate ventilation.
Advice on safe handling and usage: Use only in well-ventilated areas. Do not mix with incompatible materials (acids, oxidizing agents). Keep away from flames and hot surfaces. Do NOT handle without gloves. Reduce the duration of exposure to the minimum required.
Storage
Technical Measures for storage : Does not require any specific or particular measures.
Storage conditions
Recommended : Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
Incompatible products : Do not mix with incompatible materials (acids, oxidizing agents).
Packaging Measures
Packaging materials - Recommended : Keep only in the original container.

Exposure controls / personal protection
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Manufacturer/User of the Registrant’s intermediate
Control measures
Engineering measures : Dust must be extracted directly at the point of origin. Facilities and equipment easily cleanable.
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection : In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Respirator with a particle filter (EN 143)
Hand protection : Impervious gloves. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the
gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.
Eye protection : Goggles. Face-shield
Skin and body protection : Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Impervious clothing. Boots
Hygiene measures : Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment. Before reuse, thoroughly clean personal protection equipment
Shower or bathe at the end of working. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Protective measures : Always have on hand a first-aid kit, together with proper instructions. Ensure that eye flushing systems and safety showers are located close to the working place.
General advice : Should not be released into the environment. Prevent product from entering drains. Prevent spreading over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers).
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity : Stable at normal ambient temperature and pressure.
Chemical stability : Decomposes on heating.
Hazardous reactions
Conditions to avoid : Thermal decomposition 90 °C
Materials to avoid : Acids. Oxidizing agents
Decomposition products : On combustion or on thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) releases: harmful and corrosive vapours. (Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)). Oxides of phosphorus. PHOSPHINE
Disposal considerations
Product Disposal
Prohibition : Do not dispose of with domestic refuse.
Advice on Disposal : The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. Send to a licensed waste management company.
Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations.
Advice on cleaning and disposal of packaging
Measures for waste avoidance. : Do not burn, or use a cutting torch on, the empty drum. Do NOT dispose of untreated packaging with industrial waste.
Advice : Rinse with an appropriate solvent. Allow it to drain thoroughly. After recovery of solvent dispose of by special waste incineration.
Other data : Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
