Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
June 27, 2013
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The substance has been tested according to internal procedure SOP-STR 071.
Laser light scattering. The particle size distribution was analyzed using the Mastersizer 2000 tool, which uses the technique of laser diffraction to measure the size of particles. It measures the intensity of light scattered as a laser beam passes through a dispersed particulate sample. This data is then analyzed to calculate the size of the particles that created the scattering pattern.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
Laser scattering/diffraction
Type of distribution:
volumetric distribution

Acid Blue 025 was tested after 2 minutes of ultrasonic treatment.

Conclusions:
The test item has a median mass diameter of 19.756 µm
Executive summary:

The substance to be registered has been tested for granulometry. The test item shows a median mass diameter of 19.756 µm.

Description of key information

D50 = 19.756 µm

Additional information

The particle size distribution was determined by light scattering (REACH&Colours Kft, 2013) and resulted to have the following parameters:

D10 = 7.270 µm

D50 = 19.756 µm

D90 = 49.119 µm
