Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The Reaction mass of 4-Vinylcylcohexene, Cylcododeca-1,5,9-triene (1Z,5E,9E) and Cycloocta-1,5-diene is not readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The biodegradation of the Reaction mass of 4-Vinylcylcohexene, Cylcododeca-1,5,9-triene (1Z,5E,9E) and Cycloocta-1,5-diene will be determined by the individual biodegradability of the components. The assessment of (1Z, 5E, 9E)-cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene and (1E, 5E, 9E)-cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene is based on Cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene (CAS 4904-61-4).

For the endpoint “Biodegradation in water: screening test” the components reveal the following result:

- Cycloocta-1,5-diene (CAS 111-78-4) 1% (28d, CO2 evolution)

- 4-Vinylcyclohexene (CAS 100-40-3) 0% (28d, O2 consumption)

- Toluene (CAS 108-88-3) 80% (15d, BOD/ThOD)

- Cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene (CAS 4904-61-4) 0% (18d, O2 consumotion)

Due to the results of individual components the Reaction mass of 4-Vinylcylcohexene, Cylcododeca-1,5,9-triene (1Z,5E,9E) and Cycloocta-1,5-diene is not readily biodegradable.
