Description of key information

Two GLP-compliant guideline studies were conducted to determine the n-octanol/water partition coefficient of the test substance.

The first one was conducted in 2014, in accordance with the OECD 117 test guideline (HPLC method). However, this test guideline is not entirely suitable to assess the log Kow value of organometallic substances such as the test substance. Therefore, a second study was conducted in 2020, according to the OECD 107 test guideline (shake flask method). The OECD 107 study is considered the key study selected for chemical safety assessment, and the OECD 117 is listed as a supporting study.

In the key study (OECD 107) conducted in accordance with the test substance, the average log Kow of the test item was equal to -1.1 at a temperature of 21.9°C and pH in the 5.0 - 6.3 range. This value is selected as the key value for chemical safety assessment.

In the supporting study (OECD 117), the average log Kow value was equal to 0.9.
