Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Polyol esters are expected to have a low potential for bioaccumulation.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Due to the high molecular weight of the substance a crossing of biological membranes is not expected. In addition, according to the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11 (ECHA, 2012), a molecular weight higher than 1100 g/mol is an indicator that the aquatic BCF of the respective substance is lower than 2000 L/kg. This is confirmed by a calculated BCF/BAF of 0.89 L/kg (BCFBAF v3.01 Arnot Gobas, upper trophic level; Blum, 2013). As this study is not a standard information requirement in REACH, and there is no indication from the chemical safety assessment on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance, no further testing is considered necessary.
