C.I. Pigment Green 50 is assumed to be stable in the environment. Due to its low water solubility and its inert character the substance is neither expected to hydrolyse nor to adsorb to soil and suspended particles.

For Ni relevant data for Adsorption/Desorption endpoints are available and a significant sorption potential to suspended solids, sediment and soil is given. Stability and biodegradation are not applicable endpoints for nickel, as reported in the 2008/2009 European Union Risk Assessment for Nickel.

A high sorption potential to suspended solids exists also for the additional metals Co and Zn. These metals could released from the pigment as well. Stability and biodegradation are not applicable for metals.
