Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Take patient to fresh air.
Rest in half-sitting position.
Consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes and consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.
Wash off with soap and water.
Consult a physician if necessary.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with plenty of water.
Let drink 1 glass of water if victim is conscious.
Do not induce vomiting.
Contact a physician.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry powder, CO2, alcohol-resistant foam.
Product arising from burning: No specified dangerous decomposition products are known.
Protective equipment: Wear suitable protective clothing.
Further information:
Pay attention to the chemical characteristics. Cool closed
containers exposed to fire with water spray.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: General protective measures:
No naked lights. No smoking. Stop the engine. Mark roads and
warn other road users. Use flame-proof electric material;
necessary from 30'C on.
Personal protective measures:
Eye-wash bottle with clean water. Goggles giving complete
protection to the eyes. solvent-resistant boots. Solvent-
resistant gloves. Suitable respiratory protective device.
Respiratory protection:
Breathing equipment A-filter.
Environmental precautions:
Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not flush into surface water
or sanitory sewer system.
Methods for cleaning up:
If spill occurs, remove all sources of ignition, apply a
suitable absorbent material and collect into an impervious
waste container. Collect the product in a metal vessel. Wash
away residues with plenty of water. Carry away the product
to a safe site. Collect spilled product in another vessel
and carry off as chemical waste to combustion.
Additional advice:
Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic
charge.
Handling and storage
Handling: Advice on safe handling:
Before destillation check on presence of peroxides and if
necessary neutralize.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion:
Keep away from heat or open flame. Use flame-proof electric
material; necessary from 30'C on. Take precautionary measur
against static charges.
Dust explosion class: not applicable
Storage: Requirements for storage areas and containers:
Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from heat and
sources of ignition.
Advice on common storage:
Store away from acids and oxidizing agents (a.o.
sodiumhypochlorite). Store away from strong alkalis.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: steel drum-non-removable-head, inliner 200l
