Description of key information

Under the conditions of this study, the test material was determined to be not highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flammability of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.10 under GLP conditions. The study was awarded a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

The ignition source for the flammability test was an air rich Bunsen burner flame. Six tests were carried out.

In each of the tests conducted the test material melted, ignited and burned with a flame. The burning times ranged from 135 to 195 s. As the minimum burning time of 135 s was greater than 45 s, the test material was not considered to be a highly flammable solid in terms of its burning characteristics.

Under the conditions of this study, the test material was determined to be not highly flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to flammability.
