Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence:

2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, C13-15-branched and linear alkyl esters was tested for readily biodegradation according to OECD guideline 301B. The degree of biodegradation was 83 % CO2/ThCO2. Degree of biodegradation at the end of the ten-day window: approx. 72% CO2/ThCO2. 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, C13-15-branched and linear alkyl esters was readily biodegradable under the conditions of this test over the 28-day exposure.

Therefore the test substance is judged to be non-persisitent.

Bioaccumulation:

Not B/vB based on the BCF<= 2000 L/kg

Log BAF (Arnot-Gobas mid trophic, including biotransformation rate estimates): 2.374 (BCF = 236.6 L/kg wet-wt)

Log Kow used by BCF estimates: 7.17

Based on this data, the test substance is not B/VB.

Toxicity:

For the substance a long-term NOEC vale of >=10 mg/L was determined in aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna). Further, there is no evidence of CMR or chronic toxicity as specified in REACH Annex XIII. Therefore, the substance is considered to be not T.
