- Conclusions:
- The results of the study revealed that the test item, FAT 75637/B was non-explosive when subjected to flame, shock and friction tests.
- Executive summary:
The objective of the study was to determine the Explosive properties of the FAT 75637/B to understand if the test item presents a danger of explosion when submitted to the effect of a flame, shock and friction tests. This study was conducted in accordance with EEC A.14. The thermal sensitivity (effect of flame) test with FAT 75637/B showed that after heating the test item with flame there was no explosion. Hence, the test item FAT 75637/B was non-explosive.
The mechanical sensitivity (shock) test with FAT 75637/B showed that there was no bursting into flame or sparks when conducted the experiment with 10 kg mass from 0.40-meter height in six replications. Hence, the test item FAT 75637/B was non-explosive.
The mechanical sensitivity (friction) test with FAT 75637/B showed that there was no explosion, bursting into flame or crepitation, when test was performed with 360 N loading (using weights 5 kg+ 4.9 kg) in six replications. Based on the findings of this study, FAT 75637/B was determined to be nonexplosive.
Reference
Thermal Sensitivity (Effect of Flame)
The results of thermal sensitivity (effect of flame) test showed that after heating the test item with flame for 5 minutes using 6.0 and 2.0 mm diameter orifice plates, there was no explosion and hence, the test item was considered as non-explosive when subjected to heat test.
Evaluation: The test result was considered as negative. It was observed that there was no explosion occurred. Hence, the test item FAT 75637/B was non-explosive.
Mechanical Sensitivity (Shock)
The results of mechanical sensitivity (shock) test showed that there was no bursting into flame or sparks when conducted the experiment with 10 kg mass from 0.40 meter height in six replications and hence, further experiment with lower weight (5 kg) and lower height (0.15 meter) was not performed. Therefore, the test item was considered as non-explosive when subjected to shock test.
Evaluation: The test result was considered as negative. It was observed that there was no explosion occurred. Hence, the test item FAT 75637/B was non-explosive.
Mechanical sensitivity (Friction)
The results of mechanical sensitivity (friction) test showed that there was no explosion, bursting into flame or crepitation when test was performed with 360 N (5 kg+ 4.9 kg) and hence, further experiment with 120 N was not performed. The test item was considered as non-explosive when subjected to friction test.
Evaluation: The test result was considered as negative. It was observed that there was no explosion occurred. Hence, the test item FAT 75637/B was non-explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification
FAT 75637/A was found to be not explosive in the study performed according to EU Method A.14, hence it does not warrant classification in accordance with CLP (Regulation EC No. 1272/2008).
