Conclusions:
The solubility of L-TEE in water was determined in accordance to EC Method A6 and OECD Guideline 105.
The solubility of L-TEE in double-distilled water was determined to be greater than 4000 g/L with a nominal pH of 9.1.
Executive summary:

The solubility of L-TEE in water was determined in accordance to EC Method A6 and OECD Guideline 105.

To 5 mL double-distilled water, an amount of 10 g of L-TEE was added twice. As it fully dissolved the test was stopped. Cooling the solution to 20°, no deposit was observed.

The solubility in double-distilled water was determined by a simplified (non-analytical) shake flask procedure to be > 4000 g/L with a resultant pH of nominally 9.1.

Description of key information

The water solubility of L-TEE was determined to be >4000 g/L at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
4 000 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The solubility of L-TEE in water was determined in accordance with EC Method A6 and OECD Guideline 105.

To 5 mL double-distilled water, an amount of 10 g of L-TEE was added twice. As it fully dissolved, the test was stopped. Cooling the solution to 20°, no deposit was observed. Therefore the solubility of the test substance at this latter temperature is considered to be in excess of 4000 g/L.

The solubility in double-distilled water was determined by a simplified (non-analytical) shake flask procedure to be > 4000 g/L with a resultant pH of nominally 9.1.
