- The samples were taken from the biological phase of the study. Collecting, storage and handing over of the samples were the Study Director’s responsibility. The information concerning the samples was provided by the Study Director.
At least duplicate samples from the freshly prepared test media of all test concentrations and the control were taken at the start of the test and at each test medium renewal.
For the determination of the stability of the test item under the test conditions and the maintenance of the test item concentrations during the test period, respectively, at least duplicate samples were taken from all aged test media of all treatment groups at each test medium renewal and at the end of the test.
All samples were taken from the approximate centre of the aquaria.
The samples were diluted by a factor of two with acetonitrile.

- Nominal and measured concentrations:
- Due to the low limit of water solubility of the test item, a filtrate of nominal 100 mg/L and dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 of this filtrate resulting in nominal concentrations of 50.0, 25.0, 12.5 and 6.25 mg test item/L were tested. Additionally, a control was tested in parallel. In this study, nominal concentrations are equivalent to nominal loading rates. Thus, in the following, test item concentrations will be reported as nominal loading rates.
The quantification of the test item in the test samples was performed using liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection.
The analytical results showed about 126 µg test item/L in the freshly prepared test samples of day 3, the last test medium renewal. The results of the other freshly prepared samples of the test showed less to no test item.

- The toxic effect of the test item to Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was assessed in a semi-static concentration-response test. Based on the test results the 96-hour LC50 was determined to be >100 mg test item/L based on nominal loading rates. The NOEC was determined to be ≥ 100 mg/L mg test item/L also based on nominal loading rates.
