Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Take appropriate steps to avoid fire, explosion and inhalation hazards.
Eye contact
Immediately flush with plenty of water. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Skin contact
Wash skin with soap and water. Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower.
Ingestion
Call a physician immediately. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water.
Inhalation
Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Self-protection of the first aider
Take appropriate steps to avoid fire, explosion and inhalation hazards.
Fire-fighting measures
Alcohol resistant foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Water spray
Protective equipment and precautions for firefighters
As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent) and full protective gear.
Accidental release measures
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions
Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. dry sand or earth), then place in a chemical waste container.
Methods for cleaning up
Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Handling and storage
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Metal containers must be lined.
