Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Skin contact: Wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. Remove all contaminated clothes and
footwear immediately unless stuck to skin. dispose of contaminated clothing and
footwear as hazardous waste Obtain medical attention immediately.
Eye contact: Bathe the eye with running water for 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention immediately.
Transfer to hospital for specialist examination.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If conscious give plenty of water to drink. Obtain medical
attention immediately.
Inhalation: Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so. If
unconscious, check for breathing and apply artificial respiration if necessary. DO NOT
give mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration If breathing is difficult give oxygen. Obtain
medical attention immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Material is not combustible. Water spray. Suitable extinguishing media for the
surrounding fire should be used.
Exposure hazards: does not burn or readily support combustion.
Advice for fire-fighters: Wear protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Wear self-contained
breathing apparatus. Promptly isolate the scene by remove all personnel from vacinity if
there is a fire. keep containers cool with water spray. do not get water inside any
containers
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective clothing - see section 8 of SDS.
Use personal protective equipment If outside do not approach from downwind. Do not
breathe vapour, gas. Evacuate area Wash area with copious amounts of water ensuring
washings are not released to the environment. Do not attempt to take action without
suitable protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into drains or rivers. Contain the spillage using bunding.
Clean-up procedures: For small spills, absorb onto dry sand or earth. If a water curtain has been used to
prevent further release of vapours then absorb spillage with dry sand or earth large
spillage: carefully apply a fine water mist or mid -expansion foam to slowly dilute the
non-fuming sulphuric acid and hydrochloric avid. this may release sulphuric acid mists
and hydrochloric acid vapours into the air. Cover with dry-lime, sand or soda-ash.
Handling and storage
Handling requirements: Do not handle in a confined space. Wear personal protective equipment. Provide safety
showers and eyebaths in areas where accidental exposure is possible. Avoid contact
with eyes, skin and clothing Always refer to specific on site Work Instructions for PPE
requirements for specific tasks.
Storage conditions: Store in a cool, well ventilated area. Avoid contact with water or humidity. Keep only in the
original container. never allow this material to get into contact with water during storage
Suitable packaging: Must only be kept in original packaging.
