Description of key information
Appearance/Physical state/Colour
The test item is a brown solid.
Melting point/freezing point
The melting point of the test item is 193 - 201⁰C.
Boiling point
The boiling temperature of the test item was not determinable as the test item decomposed at temperatures above approximately 266°C.
Density
The relative density of the test item is 0.93 at 20°C.
Particle size distribution
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the granulometry study does not need to be conducted as the substance is marketed or used in a non-solid or granular form.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of the test item is 5 E-07 Pa at 25°C.
Partition coefficient
The partition coefficient of the soluble components of the test item was determined to be <1.0. The higher molecular weight components, which were not soluble in water, would have much higher Pow values.
Water solubility
The water solubility of the test item is 0.24 ± 0.03 g/L at 20°C.
Surface tension
The surface tension of the test item is 35 mN/m.
Flash point
The flash point was waived as in accordance with ECHA (2017) guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R7a: endpoint specific guidance, the flashpoint study does not need to be conducted as this substance is a solid at room temperature.
Auto flammability
The test item is not a self-igniting solid based on the study performed according to the EC Method A.16.
Flammability
The test item is considered to not be highly flammable based on the study following method A.10 -Flammability (Solids).
Explosiveness
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the explosive properties study does not need to be conducted as there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule.
Oxidising properties
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the oxidising properties study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
Additional information
Physico-chemical endpoints are completed for this substance based on test data following standard guidelines, or data waivers. All data are therefore considered to be reliable and relevant for the endpoint concerned.
Appearance/Physical state/Colour
The test item is a brown solid as reported in the test item section, and associated certificate of analysis, of a GLP-compliant experimental study (Dunning 2018).
Melting point/freezing point
The melting point of the test item was determined to be 193 - 201⁰C (Dunning 2018). The study was conducted according to OECD guideline 102.
Boiling point
The boiling temperature of the test item was not determinable as the test item decomposed at temperatures above approximately 266°C (Dunning 2018). The study was conducted according to OECD guideline 103.
Density
The relative density of the test item was determined to be 0.93 at 20°C (Dunning 2018). The study was carried out according to OECD guideline 109.
Particle size distribution
This endpoint was waived as in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the granulometry study does not need to be conducted as the substance is marketed or used in a non-solid or granular form.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of the test item was determined to be 5 E-07 Pa at 25°C. The study was conducted according to the OECD guideline 104 (Dunning 2018) with the effusion method using isothermal thermogravimetry analysis.
Partition coefficient
The partition coefficient of the soluble components of the test item was determined to be <1.0. The higher molecular weight components, which were not soluble in water, would have much higher Pow values.
The study was conducted according to the OECD 117 guideline using HPLC method (Dunning 2018).
Water solubility
The water solubility of the test item was determined to be 0.24 ± 0.03 g/L at 20°C (Dunning 2018). Water solubility was tested according to OECD guideline 105 using a flask method.
Surface tension
The surface tension of the test item is 35 mN/m. The study was performed according to the OECD 115 guideline using the ring method (Dunning 2018).
Flash point
The flash point was waived as in accordance with ECHA (2017) guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R7a: endpoint specific guidance, the flashpoint study does not need to be conducted as this substance is a solid at room temperature.
Auto flammability
The test item is not a self-igniting solid based on the study performed according to the EC Method A.16 (Dunning 2018).
