Water solubility:
291 g/L
Conc. based on:
other: Magnesium-monoperphthalate hexahydrate
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: The value is a theoretical concentration because of degradation of the test substance

It was not possible to determine the water solubility of MMPP because the test substance is not stable in aqueous solution. In short times no MMPP was detectable and complete degradation to phthalic acid occurred. Therefore, the analytical determination was based on phthalic acid.

Conclusions:
The water solubility of MMPP was determined according to OECD 105. Due to the rapid degradation of the test substance the analytical determination was based on the degradation product phthalic acid. The theoretical water solubility of MMPP was determined to 223 g/L at 20°C, calculated from the measured phthalic acid concentrations.

Description of key information

The water solubility of MMPP was determined according to OECD 105. Due to the rapid degradation of the test substance the analytical determination was based on the degradation product phthalic acid. The theoretical water solubility of MMPP was determined to 223 g/L at 20°C, calculated from the measured phthalic acid concentrations.

Additional information

The value should be used with care, as the substance is not stable in aqueous solution.
