Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.
In case of irritation of the respiratory tract seek medical
advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes with plenty of water, eyelids held open, if
necessary seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash with soap and plenty of
water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If necessary gastric lavage.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: all appropriate.
Product arising from burning: CO, HCl, NOx
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Gas-mask with filter (B-filter) against CO, HCl and NOx.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect spilt material in containers if possible with
appropriate industrial vacuum cleaner. Wear dustmask,
inpermeable gloves and goggles.
If possible recover spilt product (see A.6).
Avoid entrance of the substance into the canalisation.
Collect waste material in well labelled containers and
discharge according to local regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling: Wear dust mask, goggles and gloves (textil/leather) during
filling and refilling of the substance.
Storage: Protect containers against falling.
Avoid product residues on the containers if available by
using appropriate filling/refilling technologies.

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Transport: Transport exclusively in tightly closed steel or PE
containers.
Protect containers against fall-down.
Label with "Caution - not fully tested substance."
No dangerous cargo according to international transport
regulations.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: none
Chemical reaction with water: only slow hydrolysis.
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery possible by recrystallisation.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation by esterification with alcohols with low
number of Carbons in presence of alkali (e.g. NaOH). The
generated iminostilben-5-carboxylic acid esters are hardly
soluble in water.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Discharge of the untreated substance is not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is possible in an incineration plant with gas
scrubber.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Adsorb on the surface swimming substance with chemical
adsorbend.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery by recrystallization.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation by esterification with alcohols with low
number of Carbons in presence of alkali (e.g. NaOH). The
generated iminostilben-5-carboxylic acid esters are hardly
soluble in water.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Discharge of the untreated substance should be avoided.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration possible in an incineration plant with flue gas
scrubber.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Adsorb on the surface swimming substance with an absorbend.
