The self ignition test was carried out for the determination of the self-ignition temperature of Gallic Acid. The procedure was performedas per the guideline “A.16. Relative Self Ignition Temperature of Solids” from the Official journal of the European Communities.

A cube was filled with the test item and tapped gently, test item was added more until the cube was completely filled. The cube was then suspended in the center of the oven at room temperature. The temperature was raised up to 250.4°C at a rate of 0.5°C/minute. No sharp temperature rise above the oven temperature was observed, which indicates that the test item does not undergo self-ignition up to 250.4°C.
