Discussion
The test item was a brown waxy solid when removed from storage at approximately 4 °C, however was liquid when heated to approximately 80 °C from sub sampling, cooling to 20 °C was carried out before determination. Adding heated test item to the pycnometers does not change the volume of the pycnometers.
Duplicate determinations are within accuracy (+/-3kg/m3). Therefore no additional measurement is required and the mean value is retained.
Description of key information
The density of the test item has been determined to be 980 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C; relative density: 0.980.
The test item is less dense than water.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Relative density at 20C:
- 0.98
Additional information
A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to OECD 109 /EU A3 guideline and under GLP, using pycnometer, is available. It is considered as a key study, and the result is retained as key data.
The relative density D(20/4) was measured as 0.980.
