Conclusion on classification

The following relevant key results are currently available for deriving the classification of the substance for the environment:

Daphnia magna 48h-EC50: 1.5 mg/L

Algae 48h-ErC50: 0.41 mg/L; no EC10 or NOEC could be derived.

Readily biodegradable

LogKow: 5.1

Acute (short-term) aquatic hazard:

As the acute ErC50 value for algae is 1 mg/L, the substance needs to be classified as Acute 1 according to Table 4.1.0(a).

Chronic (long-term) aquatic hazard:

No chronic value (EC10 or NOEC) could be derived in the studies, therefore classification has to be done only according to the criteria in Table 4.1.0(b)(iii). The lowest acute value is derived for algae with an EC50 value of 0.41 mg/L. In combination with the LogKow of 5.1, the substance should be classified as Chronic 1.

Conclusion:

The substance needs to be classified as Acute 1 (H400) and Chronic 1 (H410) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and its amendments.
