Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Any other information on results incl. tables

Results

In the preliminary screening test the test flame was applied for over two minutes, the sample melted and expanded on the plate forming a circular puddle having a diameter of about 8 cm. No secondary flame is observed. After removing the pilot flame, only the generation of smoke was observed.

The preliminary screening test was performed in duplicate and the similar observations were obtained in the both test.

The sample labelled as Octadecyl docosanoate should not be considered as readily flammable and no further burning rate test is required.

Conclusion

According to test method A.10, the test item should not be considered as readily flammable.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
According to test method A.10, the sample of test item should not be cosidered as readily flammable.
