Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Since no study on short-term toxicity to fish is available for potassium cryolite, the results of its structural analogue multiconstituent aluminium potassium fluoride are used instead.

The 96-h LC50 in zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio) is >10 mg/L.

Additional information

Since no short-term toxicity study in fish is available for potassium cryolite, the results from the structural analogue multiconstituent aluminium potassium fluoride are used instead (for details see Read-across justification as attached in section 13). For multiconstituent aluminium potassium fluoride a GLP-compliant OECD 203 guideline study is available for short-term toxicity in zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio). The test was conducted as a limit test at 10 mg/L and the concentrations were analytically verified. At the concentration tested (10 mg/L), no mortality and abnormal behaviour was observed. Therefore, a 96-h LC50 value of >10 mg/L was reported (Solvay Pharmaceuticals, 2010a).
