Description of key information
The EC50 value of the substance to the tested species was > 1000 mg solids/kg dw (>2618 mg/kg soil dw for the registered substance).

A seedling emergence and seedling growth test was carried out according to OECD 208 and GLP.
The study was performed with Lettuce, Chinese cabbage, Carrot, Tomato, Oat and Wheat.
Three tests were performed. In the first test all plant species were tested. In the second only Tomato plant was tested as the first test did not reach validity criteria for this species. In the third test Wheat was tested with a lower concentration range compared to the first test.
Twenty or twenty one seeds of each species were exposed to an untreated control and nominal concentrations of 12, 37, 111, 333 and 1000 mg solids/kg dw. In an additional test Wheat plants were exposed to 0.67, 2.0, 6.0, 18, 54 and 162 mg solids/kg dw. The total exposure time was 21 days and assessments of emergence, survival and plant condition were performed at least once per week. At the end of the test, the condition of emerged plants and fresh weight was determined. Samples from the test article stock solution were taken for determination of the TOC. The TOC analysis confirmed nominal test concentrations.

No reliable EC10 or NOEC could be determined for wheat. Therefore the study is considered as reliable with restrictions. The restriction is that only the EC50 value of this study can be used.
All validity criteria are met except the criterium that requires that growing media should contain the same amount of soil. In the first test, the amount of medium per replicate was lower in the two highest concentration than in the control and the lower concentrations. This was caused by a shortage of medium that was detected during preparation. It is concluded that this did not affect the tested parameters and therefore the study is considered valid.
