Additional information

One study is available investigating the toxicity of Isooctadecanoic acid, 1,1'-(2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediyl) ester (CAS 109884-54-0) to freshwater algae (Junghans, 2009). The study was performed according to OECD 201 (GLP) using Desmodesmus subspicatus as test organism. Due to the very low water solubility water accommodated fractions (WAFs) were prepared (stirring with subsequent filtration) at a loading rate of 100 mg/L (limit test). No inhibition of growth was observed in the treatment throughout the test period of 72 h. Hence, the ErL50 (72 h) was determined to be > 100 mg/L based on the nominal loading rate. The corresponding NOErLR (72 h) was derived to be ≥ 100 mg/L. It can be concluded that the substance has no effects to aquatic algae up to the limit of water solubility.
