Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
AAA reaction product is a complex mixture of monomers, dimers, trimers and polymers as well as water. AAA reactiopn product is a viscous amber liquid at room temperature which melts in the range of - 20.9°C to - 22.9°C with boiling and polymerisation observed between 100°C and 260°C. There is no testing data on vapour pressure but vapour pressures of monomers, dimers, trimers and polymers are estimated to be low or neglible using EpiSuite model (see attachement).
Using the same model (EpiSuite), the partition coefficients of single components was estimated to be low and a low water solubility is estimated. The surface tension of AAA reaction product at 90 % of saturation concentration was determined to be 58.0 mN/m at 20.1°C ± 0.1°C and the relative density was 1.2907. AAA reaction product is used as an intermediate and subsequently polymerise upon heating (see attachments). Hence, stability of the AAA reaction product is not considered to be critical and in terms of dissociation, a pKa of > 15 can be roughly estimated from the measured pH of 6.5 of the mixture.
AAA reaction product is a complex mixture of organic acids (trimellitic acid and tetrahydrophthalic acid) and diethanolamine, and dimeric, trimeric and oligomeric reaction products of these monomers. Thus AAA reaction product consists of a mixture of organic acids, alcohols, esters, secondary amines and substituted amides, none of these components contain groups that may cause an exothermic reaction. Also, AAA reaction product is a viscous liquid that does not self-ignite and have no explosive or oxidising properties, hence it is concluded that AAA reaction product is non-flammable with no self-ignition properties.
In the attached documents below, supportive information and justifications on estimated/calculated water solubility, vapour pressure and partification coefficient for AAA reaction product using the EpiSuite programme can be found.
An overall summary of the additional physical/chemical properties is available in attached documents below ("Summary of Physical_Chemical Properties").
