Results and discussion

Water solubility
Water solubility:
1.88 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
>= 2.5 - <= 2.8
Details on results:
Preliminary test:
The content of test substance dissolved in the water sample was 2.72 g/l.

Main study:
The results for the samples taken at 24, 48 and 72 hours are given in Table 8.

With the 72-hour measurement a lower value for the analysed concentration was obtained, but with the different time points of 24, 48 and 72 hours no tendency to decreased values was found i.e. the 24- and 48- hour measurements were similar and had a maximum difference of < 15%. According to the guidelines, the water solubility of the test substance is given as the mean value of the 24- and 48-hour measurements.

A small response at the retention time of the test substance was detected in the pretreated sample from the blank water mixture. The response derived from the double distilled water applied. The content of the blank sample to the water solubility of the test substance was 2.5%. It was considered that the response did not affect the water solubility of the test substance.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): soluble (1000-10000 mg/L)
The flask method was chosen for the determination of the water solubility of the reaction mass containing mainly 1,2-Dichloropropane.

The water solubility of the test substance at 20°C was 1.88 g/l. The pH of the aqueous samples was 2.5 – 2.8.
