Justification:

The substance is an glass based fibre composed of silica , alumina and alkaline earlths, which occur naturally and are ubiquitous in rocks, soils and sediments and are stable over geological time. The substance we discuss here is chemically identical, albeit of different morphology to the naturally occurring materials. It is inorganic, inert and stable and therefore persistent in the environment. There is no intentional release to the environment. Any dispersal of the substance is limited to manufacturing and use facilities. Disposal is restricted to hazardous waste landfill sites . There are no known routes for biodegradation.
