Additional information

In the key study the acute toxicity of Nutmeg Oil towards Daphnia magna was investigated according to OECD guideline 202 under GLP. This test was performed with Water Accomodated Fractions (WAFs). The 48h-EL50 based on loading rates was 4.2 mg/l with a 95% confidence interval between 3.5 and 5.2 mg/l (Migchielsen 2014, Rel. 1).

Another available study (resulting in an 48h-EC50 of 54 mg/l nominal Nutmeg oil with solvent) is considered to be not reliable for many reasons including that the substance is volatile, uncertainty about whether test vessels were covered and no actual concentrations were determined (Barth 2001, Rel. 3).
