Description of key information

Naphthalenesulfonic acids are not mutagenic based on the available mutagenicity data, thus no testing for carcinogenicity is warranted. Nevertheless, Naphthalenesulfonic acids have to be classified as Cancer Cat. 3 (R40) according to DSD-DPD and as Cancer Cat. 2 (H351) according to CLP based on the content of ca. 3.3 % Naphthalene (CAS # 91-20-3). No additional testing will be performed as no additional information gain is to be expected.
