Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice:
Shower immediately, rapidly taking off all contaminated clothing whilst under the shower, washing abundantly and thoroughly with water.
Inhalation:
Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Keep under medical surveillance. In case of problems : Hospitalise.
Skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water.
Eye contact: Wash well-open eyes immediately and abundantly with water for at least 15 minutes. Consult immediately an ophthalmologist.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting, rinse mouth and lips with plenty of water if the subject is conscious, then hospitalize.
Protection of first-aiders: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Protective suit.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder extinguishers.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water jet.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Thermal decomposition giving toxic products:, carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide
Advice for firefighters:
Specific methods: In case of fire nearby, remove exposed containers. Ensure containers can be rapidly moved. Containers/tanks should be cooled with water spray.
Special protective actions for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Prohibit contact with eyes. Avoid contact with skin. Avoid inhalation of vapours. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke.
Environmental precautions:
Do not release into the environment. Do not let product enter drains.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Recovery:
Shovel into suitable container for disposal. After cleaning, flush away traces with water. Recover waste water for processing later. No
sparking tools should be used. (powder)
Elimination: Destroy the product by incineration (in accordance with local and national regulations).
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Technical measures/Precautions:
Storage and handling precautions applicable to products: Solids handled in molten state. Corrosive for Eyes
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery and at places where dust can be generated. Provide showers, eye-baths. Provide water
supplies near the point of use. Provide self-contained breathing apparatus nearby.
Safe handling advice:
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Handle and open
container with care. Put lids on containers immediately after use.
Hygiene measures:
Prohibit contact with eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapours. Avoid contact with skin. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Provide earthing
and safe electrical equipment. Provide a catch-tank in a bunded area. Provide impermeable floor.
Incompatible products: Strong oxidizing agents

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters:
Exposure controls:
General protective measures: Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: In the case of hazardous fumes, wear self contained breathing apparatus.
Hand protection: Protective gloves
Eye/face protection: Safety glasses with side-shields
Skin and body protection: Protective suit.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity & Chemical stability: The product is stable under normal handling and storage conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions:
None known.
Conditions to avoid: Heat, flames and sparks.
Incompatible materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products:
Thermal decomposition giving toxic products : Carbon oxides
Disposal considerations
Disposal of product: Do not dispose of waste into sewer. If recycling is not practicable, dispose of in compliance with local
regulations.
Disposal of packaging: Do not release into the environment. Destroy packaging by incineration at an approved waste disposal
site (in accordance with local and national regulations).
