Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Since no reliable sorption tests are available for C8-isoAS Na (CAS 126-92-1), in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5, a read-across to another structurally related category member was conducted. Read-across data from another C8 alkyl sulfate (CAS 142-31-4). In the publication of Marchesi et al. (1991), sediment sorption data for several alkyl sulfates with different carbon chain lengths are presented. Koc value is dependent on the carbon chain length and increases with the increasing chain. The C8AS Na homologue (CAS 142-31-4) is indicated to be of low sorption potential. The determined Koc values are between 75 and 101 which corresponds to the log Koc values in the range of 1.88 and 2.0. Due to structural and property similarities with the tested category member it can be concluded that the above result applies also to C8-isoAS Na (CAS 126-92-1). For the PNEC sediment and soil derivation, according to the equilibrium partitioning method (EPM), the lower boundary of the range (Koc = 75) was taken into account, since this value represent the worst case scenario for the chemical safety assessment.
