First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air, seek medical attention if
irritation develops.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with gentle running water for at least 15 minutes,
seek medical attention if irritation develops.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with a large volume of water. If
irritation develops seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur together with some soot.

Protective equipment: Protective clothing and a self contained breathing apparatus
should be used.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear full protective clothing (see 2.3.1).
Local spillage: Sweep carefully into a plastic liner and
contain within a tared plastic labelled drum. Avoid
dispersing dust into the air. Flush contaminated area with
copious quantities of water.
Large spillages: Sweep up throughly into clean polyethylene
liners and place in an appropriately labelled drum. Flood
the area with copious quantities of water to drain.
Dispose of containers and all washings by incineration in
accordance with local regulations. Prevent washings from
entering water supplies. (Any dilution should be at least a
thousand fold.)
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Protective
rubber gloves (14 inch PVC gauntlets), paper suits, safety
glasses (BS2092) and a dust mask should be worn. Where dust
generation cannot be avoided, provide and use local exhaust
ventilation. Where local exhaust ventilation is
impracticable, wear an approved face mask.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area. The substance
should be stored in the original container, which should be
correctly labelled and kept tightly closed.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre board 25 kg drums double lined with antistatic
polyethylene liners, closed with a lever closing ring.
