Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
83 °C

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The

IPCS International Programme on Chemical Safety and the GESTIS Substance database reports the flash point to be 83°C at 1013 hPa, measured in a closed cup. The Knovel - A poroperties database and HSDB reports the flash point to be 83 °C at 1013 hPa, measured in a open cup. Four independent literature sources report the flash point in the same range. Thus, a flash point of 83 °C at 1013 hPa was regarded to be reliable for dimethyl sulphate.
