Additional information

MODA is known as water soluble and stable in aqueous solution. This is in accordance with substances of similar chemical structure. Amines are generally known to be resistant to hydrolysis. Therefore, the substance is not expected to undergo hydrolysis under environmentally relevant conditions. One study is available for the substance which shows that the substance is not biodegradable.

Due to the strictly controlled conditions of use and the limited exposure to the environment no further studies were considered necessary. A detailed justification is attached to this dossier. In a bioaccumulation test (Test for the Degree of Bioconcentration in Fish) a BCF not more than 1.8 at Level 1 (500 µg/L) and a BCF not more than 18 at Level 2 (50 µg/L) was determined. An adsorption/desorption screening test does not need to be conducted as the substance has a low log Kow values (log Kow < 3, at 25°C), and thus has low potential for adsorption.
