Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not specified
Conclusions:
The EC50 24h was 10 mg/L based on mobility.
Therefore, the EC50 48h is between 1 and 10 mg/l, and the substance considered as toxic to aquatic organisms.

Since the substance is not readily biodegradable it is classified as:

Directive 67/548/EEC: R51/R53
Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008: H411
Executive summary:

The ortho-trifluoromethylaniline has been tested for acute toxicity to Daphnia magna Strauss (strain IRCHA) according to the AFNOR norm T 90301 of april 1974.

The daphnids, obtained from the laboratory breeding, were assayed during 24 hours, in the dark, at 20 +/-1 °C, in a range of substance concentrations prepared in the assay medium (20 daphnids per concentration).

The EC50 24h was 10 mg/L based on mobility.

Therefore, the EC50 48h is between 1 and 10 mg/l, and the substance considered as toxic to aquatic organisms.
