Description of key information

Aquatic studies evaluating the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are available for two different trophic levels. All studies were performed according to international guidelines and GLP. The available reliable ecotoxicity results selected for the effect of the test substance on aquatic organisms are all based on nominal concentrations.

Short-term toxicity to invertebrates

The acute toxicity of the test item on Daphnia magna was determined in a 48-hour semi-static test with a test medium renewal after 24 hours according to the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals, No. 202 (2004) and the Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Part C.2. The 48-hour EC50 was calculated to be 43.2 mg/L with 95 % confidence limits of 41.3 and 45.1 mg/L.

Toxicity to algae

The impact of the test item on the growth of the freshwater green algal species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was investigated in a 72-hour static test according to the OECD Guideline 201 (2006) and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2008, C3. The 72-h ErC50 for growth rate was calculated to be 16.0 mg/L with 95 % confidence limits of 13.6 and 18.9 mg/L. The 72-h ErC10 for growth rate was determined to be 2.19 mg/L (95 %-CL: < 1.00 - 3.56).
