Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Considering the various data of the read-across chemicals (benzophenones) to the target chemical sulisobenzone (benzophenone-4); it can be concluded that sulisobenzone is likely to have low bio-accumulation potential. His is considering the fact that benzophenones are normally bio-transformed into various metabolites and excreted through the urine. Also, animals did not retain measurable amounts of Benzophenone-12 even when the compound was ingested over a long period of time

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Bioaccumulation potential:
low bioaccumulation potential
Absorption rate - dermal (%):
0.003

Additional information

Considering theavailable information on absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion in the various end points and also since the bio-concentration factor (BCF) of sulisobenzone is very low (3.2), the bio-accumulation potential of sulisobenzone appears to be low.
