Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air if effects occur. Consult a doctor.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate immediately with water for at least 5 minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove
residue with soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing
before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Call a doctor.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: In severe fire conditions possible combustion products are
carbon and nitrogen oxides, hydrogen chloride and hydrogen
fluoride. To avoid water contamination, foam, carbon
dioxide, dry chemical or water fog are recommended
extinguishing media.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Cover spills with solid material and sweep up for disposal.
Bury waste in an approved tip away from water supplies,
streams and lakes, in accordance with local country
regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling: Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling the
material.
Storage: Store only in a Dow approved and marked container away from
food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Within the work place recovery of spilt material is
possible; however, the degree and nature of contamination
will dictate whether recovery is possible or not
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The material is considered as slightly basic and should be
treated as for any amine
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Residual, extraneous, spilt or otherwise waste material
should not be released by controlled discharge,
incineration, etc. Companies or agencies handling this
material should contact: The Plant Superintendent, Dow
Chemical Company, King's Lynn, Norfolk, UK.
