Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse for at least for 30 minutes. Seek medical attention.
NOTE TO MEDICAL PERSONNEL:
If a burn is present, treat as for any thermal burn, after
decontamination. Eye irrigation may be necessary for an
extended period of time to remove as much caustic as
possible. Duration of irrigation and treatment is at the
discretion of medical personnel.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If
irritation develops, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water may be used
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
sulfur.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Full personal protective equipment and a self-contained
breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1)
Soak up spill with an appropriate absorbent eg: sand.
Transfer to suitably labelled containers and dispose of by
incineration according to local regulations. Avoid release
of substance into public water supply.
Handling and storage
Handling: The substance should be handled in a well ventilated area.
In misty atmospheres, use an approved mist respirator.
Gloves, goggles, boots and full personal protective
equipment should be used.
Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, dark
place. The substance may be corrosive to steel and stainless
steel. Do not store together with acids.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Dowfax(R) 2A0 Solution Surfactant will be imported in 200
litre epoxy-coated steel drums.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: Will react with alkalis. May be corrosive to steel,
generating hydrogen gas.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported.
Dust explosion: Not applicable the substance is a liquid.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the recommended method of disposal at a
suitable facility. Waste gas scrubbing to remove oxides of
sulfur should be fitted. (A661)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
