Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
No toxic effects occur at the range of the substances solubility.
LC50 (48) > 100 mg/L (nominal, WAF) for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a GLP guideline study following OECD guideline 202 waterflea (Daphnia magna) were exposed for 48 hours in a static test to Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomers, blocked with dibutylamine [BASF SE, 2012]. Based on the low water solubility of the test item the aquatic toxicity was determined by a water accommodated fraction (WAF) and the test was conducted as a limit test with a nominal loading concentration of 100 mg/L substance. No effects on the swimming mobility of daphnia were observed after 48 hours of exposure.
